Noosa Pengari Steiner School campus

Campus

Noosa Pengari Steiner School is situated on a beautiful parcel of land in the Noosa hinterland ranging from Wallum Swampland to Dry Eucalypt Forest with mature Scribbly Gums dotted around the property, as well as the elegant Swamp Banksia from which our logo is derived.

The school has taken care to provide areas of manicured parkland for the students to work and play in, as well as revegetating and protecting sensitive areas that provide important habitat to various native fauna, including the endangered Glossy Black Cockatoo’s that visit our abundant casuarina thickets.

This land forms a valuable resource for the students, from their play-based curriculum in the early years, through to their biology and geography studies in high school.

Moving forward

In 2018 the school bought an additional 10 acres with a house on an adjoining allotment and we are looking towards another programme of rolling capital development over the coming 10 years.

The total land parcel now amounts to approximately 50 acres of native Noosa hinterland. This land holding has many environmentally unique features, including rare plants and a lagoon abounding in native birds and wildlife.

A master plan has been generated for the ongoing development of school facilities in order to meet the needs of future students.  We are implementing the strategies for the realisation of the plan in line with a curriculum goal of fostering harmony between the human kingdom and the natural world.

School Site Master Plan

High School Building

The school has received approval from the Sunshine Coast Regional Council to build a new Art Complex (See plans in the link below) as well as extend the high school staff room to accommodate the significant increase of staff over the last three years. The new art room will sit between the existing art room and the Manual Arts and Craft room, creating an Arts Precinct as well as excellent all abilities access throughout the area. This development will include a new classroom, studio/tutorial room, substantial storage space as well as a pottery kiln and store.
